merry cowlmiss!

Merry christmas mom! Knit on size 10.5 16" circular needles with Bernat Satin yarn (don't ask me the color, it was leftover yarn from a different project) this cowly was probably the easiest thing i've ever done; 150 stitches cast on with a basic knit/purl every other round. It's extra long - I twisted it in two to wear around my neck - hopefully dear mom will do the same.

who? whoooooooo?

i have several friends that freakthefvckout over owls. so when i found this pattern, i had to make it for my dear friend Holly. this was a SUPER quick knit, i finished it over two days. it's adorably easy. i'd suggest making the ribbing a bit bigger than the pattern suggested, perhaps 1.5 or 2 inches, rather than the 1.

no. more. cowls.

this is a crimmas present for my darling, ungrateful Jenny. since she abandoned knitting (for shame!), she'll never see this post. i think. anywho, you can find the pattern for this lovely cowl here . i used a worsted weight yarn and knit this on 10.5 needles for a bulky look. i think it's finished length is about 20 inches, just long enough to pull up in the back to use as a hood when the winter winds get ta blowin.

welcome back to your regularly scheduled knitting.

I finally finished the cowl I started a year ago. I know, I know. SLOW DOWN ERIN!! Anyways, it's big & floofy & I just love it. I did about 6 repeats of the 30 row pattern. The link to the pattern can be found on the previous entry.

hurricane hat!

sorry for the sideways picture, but i haven't the time nor patience to correct it. plus, every one needs a good stretch of the neck so...you're welcome in advance.

this yarn has seen better days. it's been a part of two frogged hats (one being a giant hat with a stupid pattern and the other being the early version of this hat). i got the pattern here. for a n00b, the way it's written was a problem. i didnt understand the adding a stitch to make the total number of stitches an odd number when the pattern was in sets of 10. turns out, that odd numbered stitch allows your knitting to rotate around the hat (with out it, you end up with a really wide rib). however, because of the rotation it is 1.) impossible to use markers and 2.) hard to keep track of where you "started" (bc sometimes your starting marker (necessary for the knowledge of where your row ends) inevitably bounces around throughout the pattern. For the 2nd reason, I'd say this hat is "medium" easy. Otherwise, it is a super simple, quick knit and took me two nights and part of a saturday, but if i hadn't been so lazy, I'd say you could finish this in a day.

princess snowball kitteh bed

pattern from stitch n bitch.

i can't promise this bed is going to stay together as 1. im SO effing sick of fun fur i don't care what it looks like, and 2. the SAINTS are playing! (Go Saints!)

ok and seriously, i am never making another one of these, k?

Felicity Hat

This is the hat that will never end. The pattern is a free ravelry download and is knit on 16 inch circular needles. I'm using Bernat Alpaca Natural Blends - a soft chunky yarn in ivory.

It's a super easy, pretty mindless project.

I knit a practice run (seen on the bottom) in about a week, but this second hat is just draaagging along.

I give it about another week before I'm done.

The Miles Diagonal

The Miles Diagonal Scarf

I'm making this scarf for my friend, Gary. I linked the pattern above and I'm using Red Heart Soft Yarn in Heather Grey (2 skeins @ 204 each.) The cast on is 42 stitches but it also gives options for narrower or wider. I didn't think 42 would look as wide as it has turned out to be. If I had to start it over (which I am NOT doing!) I would do it narrower, but I still like this. The only reason I'd do it narrower is so that it wouldn't be so bulky when wrapped around the neck. I was going for something a little more season neutral (fall-winter) but I think at this rate, I've got a pretty solid winter scarf. It's still rather nice though. And the soft texture of the yarn (which my nasty-starbucks-winter-fingers are not felting, thank pete) combined with the diagonal pattern make it look like a nice, dressy scarf. Hoorah!
